This Hollywood Reporter story with a "Glee" tie-in isn't a spoof, but it could be. The lede: "Emmy-nominated actress Lea Michele narrowly avoided a horrific car accident Sunday at 4:45 p.m. involving an overturned car at the cross section of Crescent Heights Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood." Michele, you see, was on the way to a THR event at the Chateau Marmont when she witnessed the accident, and was apparently shaken when she finally arrived. The story also advises us that producer-actress Mindy Kaling was herself caught in the ensuing traffic. Commenters are brutal, and hilarious. Samples:
I don't even know who Lea Michele is and yet, I am strangely relieved to hear that she did not die, nor was she made overly late to her important thing due to this tragic incident in which an unknown and no doubt unattractive person may or may not have been killed!
An actress I never heard of didn't get in a car accident yesterday on the way to some non-event. Extra extra.
Everyone who's a celebrity escaped without serious injury, which is really the only thing that matters. If a civilian died, then so be it, as long as Lea Michele and Mindy Kaling are okay.
Breaking News: Meanwhile, across town, another 'Glee' star got a flat tire and was so upset when she broke a nail trying to change it - she, too, immediately exited the car and stepped to safety on the side of the road.
