Orange Coast magazine says that, for decades, its readers have "lived in the shadow of its larger, sprawling neighbor to the north. But in our completely scientific and nonpartisan accounting of the pros and cons of each place, we found 52 reasons why life is better here than there. Feel free to argue, but facts are facts." There's an island comparison (Balboa vs.Terminal), the observation that, compared to the Philip Johnson-designed Crystal Cathedral L.A.'s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels "has all the exterior charm of a public storage facility," and the claim that "We riot less." You have to buy access to read them all, but there's supposed to be a sample here.
