CBS 2 /KCAL 9 make weather changes

This is how cloudy the weather has been this summer in Southern California: the duopoly in Studio City is shaking up the weather staff. OK, maybe that's not the reason. But the news is that Josh Rubenstein gets the title of Chief Meteorologist for the two stations and will take over weather responsibilities for the 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. newscasts. A release from the duop announces a bunch of other changes:

  • Henry DiCarlo shifts from weekday mornings on CBS 2 to the weekday afternoon newscasts on KCAL 9.
  • Evelyn Taft joins KCAL 9 as weeknight primetime meteorologist, from KRON in San Francisco.
  • Kaj Goldberg continues as CBS 2 and KCAL 9 weekend weathercaster, and Jackie Johnson keeps the chair at Channel 2 weeknights.
  • Whitney Drolen, a helicopter reporter at Channel 7 in 2006, joins CBS 2 as morning traffic reporter.

All of the TV reporters will also feed reports to KNX AM 1070, the release says.
