Those cheers you heard? Yeah, Mexico won.

Geez, a guy can't even go to lunch in this town without Mexico beating France 2-0. (Amusing cultural aside: The TV set at one diner in Little Tehran was tuned to the U.S. Open golf tournament, not the World Cup.) Substitutes Javier Hernandez and Cuauhtemoc Blanco scored for Mexico. "Mexico fans taunted the French with cries of 'Ole! Ole!' as the clock wound down and vuvuzelas blasted," ESPN says. "France fans were heavily outnumbered by flag-waving Mexico supporters who packed each end of Peter Mokaba Stadium and unfurled a 30-yard flag."
