Rafael Furcal's father dies in the D.R.

furcal-jumps.jpgThe reason Rafael Furcal left the Dodgers a couple of days ago was to be with his father, who had suffered serious injuries when kicked by a horse on the family farm in the Dominican Republic. Silvino Furcal died early Sunday after surgery and was buried at Loma de Cabrera. The shortstop is set to rejoin the Dodgers Tuesday in Anaheim.
