Pressroom blogger reinstated at L.A. Times

Ed Padgett posted on his blog a bit ago: "I return to the Los Angeles Times at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon and will meet with management tomorrow to discuss or clarify what content can be published online. I would like to thank everyone for his or her support during these trying last few days." On Tuesday Padgett had let it be known that he was suspended after ruffling feathers by posting about last week's production meltdown in the Los Angeles Times pressroom.

Noted: I happened to be reading back through the extensive Sam Zell archives here this morning and was reminded that Zell, after he took over Tribune, told all employees that there would be no more censoring of websites and that one of the guiding principles was question authority. Just saying.

While I was at it: Man, you couldn't make this stuff up. How could I forget Zell throwing an f-bomb at his own reporter, praising porn and pussy, and his own editors reminding staffers that while the chairman can be an embarrassment they really can't.
