Memorial plans for CHP officer Phillip Ortiz *

A funeral mass will be celebrated by Cardinal Roger Mahony for Phillip Ortiz at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Downtown. "Officer Ortiz served the people of California faithfully for 28 years and the public is invited to pay their final respects," says a CHP statement. "The Ortiz family and his CHP family welcome your attendance. Please arrive early as parking will be limited and street closures will be in effect around the area surrounding the cathedral."
