Something is looking up on Pasadena cultural scene

While the Pasadena Playhouse has fallen into bankruptcy and the Pasadena Symphony is in turmoil, the repertory-theater company A Noise Within is going ahead with plans to move from Glendale to Pasadena. Star-News columnist Larry Wilson is a fan:

It was amazing to hear that the company has raised $10 million toward its goal of coming to town and building a new stage and surrounding 300-seat Gold Line-convenient theater and home - within $3 million of what it needs.

Its story is one of extraordinary quality, radical anti-trendiness, bare-bones commitment to its art.
