OK, we've written so much about the geography wars in Los Angeles — and especially the bastardization of the traditional Eastside — that we're pretty tired of it. We've chronicled media abuse that labeled everything from the heart of Hollywood to the heart of Downtown to Hancock Park as Eastside. Curbed LA is tired of it too, so the site is asking readers to suggest a name that might actually stick for the swath defined loosely as east of Western Avenue and west of the Los Angeles River, but really meaning East Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake and Echo Park. (At LA Observed, we lump them into the Central geographic tag, but would love to have something better.) I've called it the Nouveau Eastside before, but some ideas from Curbed visitors include Hipside, Silverwood, Flipdale and Follywood.
