The Getty adds its entry to the growing list of blogs by and about art institutions (here is LACMA's Unframed, for example.) It's called The Iris: Views from the Getty, which assistant media relations director Julie Jaskol explains is meant to evoke the museum's popular Vincent van Gogh painting, Irises, and more. So far the blog has posted inside looks at installing an exhibition, Leo Politi's Blessing of the Animals mural (above) and a sobering report from Chile on earthquake damage at museums there. Nice (and nice looking) addition to the institutional channel of the Los Angeles blogosphere.
