TV loves to "investigate" valet parking in Los Angeles, but this time Channel 4 turned up the interest factor to show that there are few rules governing valets and fewer protections for drivers. Anchor Ana Garcia put on a black vest and tie, set up a valet desk on West 3rd Street near the Beverly Center, and accepted keys from strangers. Her sign even said in the small print that she was not a real valet and just plays one on TV, but customers kept coming. "Build it and they will come," Garcia says in the KNBC story.
