Tiffany robbery in Century City a tad underplayed, no?

tiffany-cc.jpgThree, four or five armed black men in ski masks walk through Century City's outdoor shopping mall, storm into Tiffany and Co., order the employees on the floor, then use hammers to smash the jewelry cases before fleeing with loot — and they aren't seen by dozens of nearby shoppers? Tuesday was a rainy night, so maybe there weren't many people around, but it was early: 6:30. Tiffany is off to the side, but doesn't it have protection? How did the robbers get away, since you can't just just drive up to the stores in Century City. Did they valet park? This one cries out for follow up, whether Westfield likes it or not — it has talker potential. The Times did only a four-graf blog item that night but apparently no story, based on the paper's search engine. Channel 7 did five grafs, Channel 5 seven (with the highest number of bad guys.)
