Mayor Villaraigosa won't be heading to Washington for the U.S. Conference of Mayors this week after all. "Out of an abundance of caution," spokeswoman Sarah Hamilton says, he'll be staying in the city to monitor the storms. City Council member Janice Hahn, who's running for lieutenant governor, has already put out a statement demanding to know why there was flooding in San Pedro this afternoon. [Excessive rainfall, perhaps?] Apparently, at least one tornado touched down along the coast in Orange County.
