Cooley in, Campbell out

District Attorney Steve Cooley has apparently thought it over and decided the exploratory committee he announced yesterday is the real thing. "The exploration phase was very brief,” he quips in today's Metropolitan News-Enterprise. He described himself as "100 percent committed" to running for Attorney General on the Republican side.

Meanwhile: Republican Tom Campbell has dropped out of a Thursday forum in L.A. on the governor's race and will run instead for U.S. Senate. He announces Thursday morning at the LAX Crowne Plaza.
