  • Tiger Woods admits on his website that "I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart."
  • An eight-inch water main ruptured Wednesday morning near Echo Park, causing street flooding that eroded a hole in the street up to 20 feet wide and partially submerged a parked Lexus. DN wires
  • A tax return by Green Dot Public Schools shows that founder Steve Barr repaid the organization more than $50,000 after an internal review determined that expenses he had charged were undocumented or unjustified. LAT
  • ImpreMedia announced plans to introduce hyperlocal coverage at La Opinión via a Community E-Journalism Media Lab to be set up in the newsroom and partnerships with community blogs. Via release

  • The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an agreement to partner with UC to reopen Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in Willowbrook by 2013. LAT
  • The Supervisors also asked county staff for a report on possibly reopening the Hall of Justice, the former home of the Sheriff's Department that has been closed since the 1994 Northridge earthquake. LAT
