Whither the news on WWLA

Media reporter James Rainey of the L.A. Times, USC Annenberg professor Felix Gutierrez and former LANG executive Steve O'Sullivan talk with Warren Olney about the meaning of the latest bad newspaper circulation numbers, tonight at 7:30 p.m. on "Which Way, L.A.?" on KCRW. Today's Romenesko had some interesting developments on the newspaper alternatives side, including a move by Politico's founder to launch a 50-person newsroom in Washington to rival the Post, and the City Hall reporter for the Chicago Tribune jumping to the new Chicago News Cooperative.

Also on WWLA: Celeste Fremon reviews the police chief finalists.

Also at Romenesko: Sara Libby at True/Slant notes that Steve Lopez is at least the third L.A. Times columnist to go first-person in a quest for medical marijuana.
