Nancy Daly, who helped found United Friends of the Children after being disturbed by what she saw at MacLaren Children's Center, died of pancreatic cancer while riding back to Los Angeles from New York in a motor home with her children. They were in St. Louis when she died. Daly had been married to Hollywood executive Robert Daly and former mayor Richard Riordan. LAT obit, CBS 2
