Mercury to get $9 million high-speed rail deal

California's high speed rail commission is set to award a big PR contract tomorrow to Mercury Public Affairs, the firm run by Gov. Schwarzenegger's top political advisor and his former campaign manager that also includes ex-Speaker Fabian Nuñez. The commission is lousy with ex-Schwarzenegger aides and Nuñez appointees. "You can't help but raise your eyebrows," said Kathay Feng, executive director of California Common Cause in Shane Goldmacher's L.A. Times story.
