Murder just another chance to say 'naked' *

Channel 4's new website is a real piece of work. The lead story up now is about model Jasmine Fiore being killed and left in a dumpster. Look how they tease it, telling us only that she was a swimsuit model and when found she was...naked.

Reality Star on the Run in Swimsuit Model Death

A reality TV millionaire is being hunted by cops in connection to the death of a swimsuit model who was found naked and...

Notice in the screen grab that the very top story in the left-hand column is that PETA ads feature stars who also are...naked. Not visible is another story slightly down page about celebrities in bikinis, with a photo of Britney Spears. I know local TV stations are on life support these days, but geez. Perhaps this all fits with KNBC's hire yesterday of Alycia Lane, a newscaster-slash-tabloid fave who first came to national attention for her bikini photos — a hire that one newsroom source calls a real "head scratcher" in these times of cutbacks. Email correspondents note that KNBC weathercaster Elita Loresca was voted America's sexiest newscaster by FHM magazine's readers a couple of years ago.

* 2 o'clock update: Main story and picture at KNBC switched to surfing dogs.
