KFWB lays off 14 staffers *

The fallout continues from the station's decision to emphasize conservative talk radio over news at 980 AM. AFTRA was notified of the KFWB pink slips this morning. Former Fox 11 anchor John Beard revealed on Twitter this week that he has talked to KFWB about filling the open 3 to 6 p.m. talk shift.

* Update: I'm told the number losing jobs is closer to 24 and include several longtime fixtures. Anchor Steve Kindred posted at Facebook that he's one of them: "It's been a wonderful ride....21 years keeping you informed and up-to-date. Now, It's time to seek a NEW adventure..." Sounds like some were moved to sister station KNX and that those laid off will stay around into September.
