The staff will be laid off September 30 for a renovation expected to last nearly two years, Sharon Waxman says at The Wrap. The hotel, owned by the Sultan of Brunei, will get 12 new villas and the 91 existing rooms — including the LA Observed wedding night suite — will be redone.
