Familiar name in LAT Sports

John Cherwa left the Los Angeles Times in 1995 to become sports editor of the Chicago Tribune. Most recently he has been in Orlando, but now he's returning to the LAT as deputy sports editor. Also, Houston Mitchell becomes an assistant editor responsible for the Fabulous Forum blog and other online stuff. Memo
