A three-year federal investigation into the Mara Salvatrucha gang's activities near Lafayette Park produced a bunch of indictments unsealed today, including that of Alex Sanchez, executive director of Homies Unidos. Among the charges in the bunch are that MS-13 conspired to murder LAPD gang officer Frank Flores. Celeste Fremon at Witness LA is shocked by Sanchez's arrest.
