Sigh. The website for the L.A. Times' new weekly tabloid for light readers, called Brand X, is already dysfunctional. Word from an insider is that it was "blocked inside the LAT firewall as potential porn spam, too - so at least LAO is in good company." [Harumph...: ed.] When I try the web address that Times editor Russ Stanton announced today, thisisbrandx.com, I get a holding screen from Register.com. Whois says the domain is registered to someone on Avenida do Infante in Funchal, Madeira. That's in Portugal. Man, I hope the Times remembered to register the URL before going public.
