TMZ reports that law enforcement sources tell the site Rihanna was found in Hancock Park with two "huge contusions" on her forehead, and a bloody lip and nose, from the incident with boyfriend Chris Brown. The bruises "look like an MMA fighter or something ... [It] looked like she was growing devil's horns," a source told TMZ. Meanwhile, someone who fed Radar Online claimed to overhear the 20-year-old performer from Barbados screaming and crying in the ER at Cedars-Sinai. Brown, 19, turned himself in last night and was booked by the LAPD on suspicion of assault, then bailed out. Both performers canceled their appearances at Sunday's Grammys. TMZ also says that Brown is racking up $2,000 a day charges on a rented Lamborghini that was impounded as evidence.
Happier Grammy news: LA Opera put out the word that it won the organization's first ever Grammys, Best Classical Album and Best Opera Recording for the 2007 production of Kurt Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, filmed live in performance at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. "This performance of Mahagonny represents what LA Opera does best: namely, to present striking performances with extraordinary artists," director Placido Domingo says in the release.
