Gene Parrish, KUSC host

Gene Parrish was from 1984 to 1996 a host and producer on classical music station KUSC-FM. Its website says that Parrish passed away after a long illness and most recently had been "the voice of Worldwide Jazz, having produced more than 800 programs. Recent projects also include his documentary commemorating the centenary of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and his tribute to Duke Ellington. For many lovers of vocal music across the country, Gene was known for producing over 400 programs of The First Art, his popular weekly series which aired on many NPR stations for many years." Laura Stegman posts that Parrish was 82 and died on Friday.
