As SoCal earthquakes go, this one was moderate but probably felt like more if you are near San Bernardino. The epicenter is initially thought to be right under the Inland Empire city. (* The magnitude was originally pegged at 5.0, but has slipped to 4.5. May change yet.) Felt over a wide area, of course — Kings announcers Bob Miller and Jim Fox haven't stopped talking about it since the quake rolled through Staples Center at 7:49 p.m. Shake map is mostly blue, and that's always good. Compare to, say, Northridge in 1994.
