Supt. David Brewer plans to make a 2 p.m. statement, media reports say. The Daily Breeze reports that Brewer will step down as head of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The Times says Brewer "is close to a deal to resign two years into a four-year contract." Rick Orlov at the Daily News says, "expected to announce his resignation today."
