"Smogtown: the Lung-Burning History of Pollution in Los Angeles" will be published Thursday by The Overlook Press/Penguin U.S.A. The book, by Chip Jacobs and William J. Kelly, looks like it will be a nice addition to the Los Angeles canon. The authors have gotten some reviews, talked it up on KPCC with Patt Morrison and I believe are scheduled to guest on KPFK's "Deadline L.A." on Friday. They have started an enviro blog around the book — Smogtown: Breathe if you dare — and Jacobs also has his own blog going.
