The man in his 50s died today at County-USC Medical Center. His name has not yet been released. The Los Angeles County coroner's office today also formally identified the engineer of the Metrolink train as Robert Sanchez, 46, of La Crescenta. Sanchez died in the crash. His name got out unofficially over the weekend when some teenagers told the media, and later authorities, that they had exchanged text messages with Sanchez while he was operating the train in Chatsworth.
