Oakley's Barber Shop is the last of the original businesses in Westwood Village, dating to 1929. It started on Vermont, near the original UCLA campus that now houses Los Angeles City College, opened by Larry Oakley's uncle. Oakley's father joined the shop after it moved to the distinctive, domed Janss Building in Westwood Village. The shop has been on Gayley Avenue since 1957. Celebrity clients included Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, Red Skelton and Howard Hughes. LAT obit
