I'm told that opinion columnist and Friendly Fire blogger Bridget Johnson has accepted an offer to become an editorial writer, columnist and member of the editorial board at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver. She will also be the online opinion editor. It takes her out of the direct clutches of MediaNews owner Dean Singleton, but the Rocky Mountain News does share a joint operating pact with Singleton's Denver Post. Meanwhile, on Friday the Daily News also lost assistant managing editor George Foulsham, one of the first senior editors to flee Wendy McCaw's reign at the Santa Barbara News-Press, to a job at UC Santa Barbara.
