Coliseum success stories

I've received a couple of emails from fans who did just fine getting to the Coliseum game on Saturday, by avoiding the Dodger Stadium shuttles.

The funny thing about Saturday was that people were so worried about parking at the actual Coliseum and parked elsewhere that it wasn’t as crazy as I thought it would be. My girlfriend and I got to park in the parking structure next to the festival, right smack in front of the Coliseum’s main entrance. When we left the car close to 4 p.m. (to attend batting practice), there were still 10’s of spaces open near us, with possibly more further down the structure. I thought about parking at Dodger Stadium too, but it just didn’t make any sense. They are not close to one another and there are not many shortcuts you can take meaning you’ll still be stuck in traffic.

I took a combination of Gold Line and bus to the Coliseum from South Pasadena, and it took me a grand total of 40 minutes, with no lines. I left my house at 5 and was at the stadium, much to my surprise, before six. The Dodger website encouraged this, but there were fewer than 10 other fans on the bus with me.

I chalk it up more to people's discomfort with buses than Dodger mismanagement.
