Mirthala Salinas is back on L.A. air

SalinasThe onetime rising star at Telemundo whose career burned up in the wreckage of an affair with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has taken the familiar post-TV route — AM radio. Tomorrow's edition of Hoy will report, in Spanish, that Salinas is now a co-anchor of "Hoy por Hoy" on 690 XTRA AM in Los Angeles. The shows airs Monday through Friday.

"She is with me since yesterday (Monday), but I can’t tell you much because there will be something official," said Gerardo Lorenz, who heads the morning show that Salinas joined.

The story doesn't yet show up on Hoyinternet.com. Update: It's up now. I'm quoted by reporter Francisco Castro, as is Julio Moran of the California Chicano News Media Association.
