Hillary's trip to L.A.

Hillary Clinton campaigned today at Citizens of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Compton and at Cal State Northridge — Andrew from Here in Van Nuys got some pics of everyone standing around outside — then she went downtown for a meeting with L.A. Times editors. I'm told there were groans in the room when she tried to beg off shaking every ink-stained hand and get out at a reasonable hour, but she managed to clasp quite a few. Interestingly, despite the LAT's vaunted new on-line sensibility, nothing about her visit to Downtown — or Obama's yesterday — made it on the Times' Opinion section blog or campaign blog. In fact, Top of the Ticket has ignored all the Los Angeles politicking of recent days, choosing to cover just the news in Nevada and points east. The news side did cover the Compton and Northridge events, but also didn't mention that Clinton was at the Times. Heck, these days if you're not going to be transparent, it's at least a traffic item considering all the civilians inconvenienced when a candidate barrels through L.A. with a Secret Service escort. Or maybe fashion item? By the way, the Daily News did blog about Clinton being at CSUN, and noted it's the anniversary of the 1994 earthquake that nearly leveled the place.

Not to be forgotten: John Edwards was in L.A. today too, and had Rick Orlov and Channel 4 and Channel 2 (at least) with him.
