No way the mayor's organizers could let this one slip away. Parents and teachers at six LAUSD campuses — including one of the high schools Mayor Villaraigosa attended, Roosevelt — have apparently voted to let him experiment with reforms there. The vote at Jordan High in Watts was reported to be too close to call tonight. So after having his broad education takeover promises quashed by his own legislative compromises and the courts, Villaraigosa will get to shape the future of at least a few Los Angeles schools. LAT
