Times building for sale? *

Political blogger Joe Scott, citing buzz among major real estate brokers, says the Tribune Co. intends to sell the square block of Downtown where the Los Angeles Times sits for high-end, mixed use, business and housing development. [How high-end can it be across the street from police headquarters?] Scott says the Times would move elsewhere in Downtown and that the deal awaits Chicago billionaire Sam Zell gaining control of Tribune.

* Publisher David Hiller says: Not for sale.
