Nice new L.A. photo website

Tortillas by hand
PhotoFriends.org is the site for the nonprofit organization that supports the Los Angeles Public Library's photograph collection, which is lovingly nurtured (and increasingly put on-line) by Carolyn Kozo Cole. The website has a selection of images from the collection and links to past exhibits, including "Local News: Tabloid Pictures from the Los Angeles Herald Express, 1936-1961" curated by Diane Keaton and "Play by Play: A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1889-1989" curated by David Davis of SoCal Sports Observed. Davis is on the group's board. The photo above of women making tortillas in a factory that was at 110 North Spring Street in the 1920s and 30s is part of a forthcoming project on industrial Los Angeles that needs some good volunteers.
