StoryCorps returns to Santa Monica
The national initiative to document everyday history and stories will park its silver Airstream "StoryBooth" trailer near the north end of the Santa Monica Promenade from today through Dec. 8. On Sunday, creator David Isay will do a reading and book signing from 2 – 3:30 pm.
UCLA honors its veterans
Retired Maj. Gen. John Singlaub and the family of 2nd Lt. Mark Daily, killed in Iraq in January and discussed by Christopher Hitchens in the November issue of Vanity Fair, will attend the Friday unveiling of the first memorial at UCLA to honor alumni who have died in wars. UCLA Newsroom
