Council President Eric Garcetti has been close to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa since the new administration took over in 2005, even though Garcetti actually endorsed then-Mayor Jim Hahn for reelection. Now Garcetti's staff is taking on a bit of Hahnian inflection. His new communications deputy is Julie Wong, who filled the role for Hahn's office. Garcetti's staff roster also includes senior policy adviser Sarah Dusseault, who had been Director of Policy for Hahn and Deputy Mayor for Housing and Homelessness.
