It's bail time, not jail time

Remember Francisco Linares, the South Bay homeowner sentenced to six months in jail for building a fence without a permit? No orange jumpsuit for him on Monday - if he can scrape up $100,000 for bail. Linares doesn't exactly say "thank you" to the nice judge. Denise Nix has the story in the Daily Breeze.

Linares, a 51-year-old father of three, said outside of the Torrance Courthouse that he was relieved but remained weary of the legal fight remaining ahead.

"It's a never-ending thing," said Linares, flanked by friends and family, including some who held signs reading: "A fence is no offense" and "Shame on you Judge Thompson."
