Ellroy comes to Zócalo

EllroyZócalo has added a new speaker for September: author and Angeleno James Ellroy. They say he'll discuss "60 years of the secret history of Los Angeles in raucous, freewheeling and profane form." It's Sept. 11 at 7 pm at the Central Library. LA Observed helps sponsor the Zócalo public lecture series, which is free but reservations are needed (and often sell out, thus the early word on Ellroy.) There's one next week in Wilmington, a discussion on cleaning up the Port of L.A. led by Rick Wartzman.

Also: SEC chairman Christopher Cox speaks at Town Hall Los Angeles on Wednesday.
