L.A. folk historian Charles Phoenix and National Public Radio producer Steve Proffitt are driving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in Phoenix's 1961 Pontiac Bonneville and filing reports for "Day to Day." Their ostensible reason to hit the road is the planned unveiling in Tulsa of a brand new 1957 Plymouth Belvedere that was put away as a time capsule fifty years ago. Along the way, they will stop in Las Vegas and hit other spots that befit Phoenix's love of mid-century Americana.
