Book deal for Jesse Katz

Publishers Weekly leads today's Deals with Los Angeles Magazine staff writer Jesse Katz selling The Opposite Field to Crown in a preempt "said to be worth major dollars."

Katz will describe his struggle to raise his son as a single dad, while at the same time nurturing the hopes and dreams of a multicultural Little League over which he presides as commissioner.

Tentative publication would be in spring 2009.
