Al Nodal goes home again

Adolfo V. Nodal was general manager of the city's Cultural Affairs Department from 1988 until the Hahn Administration took over City Hall in 2001. (He left in January 2001, during the Riordan Administration.) Mayor Villaraigosa has now appointed Nodal to the Cultural Affairs commission. When Nodal was executive director of the Otis Parsons School of Art, he brought about the relighting of rooftop neon signs around MacArthur Park. As general manager of Cultural Affairs he helped create the city's Endowment for the Arts. More recently he has overseen art projects for the Annenberg Foundation and last year's Not A Cornfield project.
