California Connected, produced at KCET, received the Alfred I. duPont award from Columbia University for "War Stories from Ward 7-D," called a "sobering report on the range of brain injuries caused by Improvised Explosive Devices in Iraq focuses on four soldiers recovering at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Palo Alto." Lisa McRee was the reporter; the producers include Jonathan Dann, Anne Lilburn, Justine Schmidt and Bret Marcus. The duPont winners are featured in a show airing Thursday on KCET, "Telling the Truth: The Best in Broadcast Journalism," hosted by Christiane Amanpour.
