'Local Story' back on Channel 4 (* updated)

creditRoss Becker's "fluid format" half-hour news show "The Local Story" ran most of the summer on KNBC, then dropped back into a new life as a web-only production. Well, after five weeks it returns to the air this afternoon. It will be the 4:30 pm lead-in to the news on Channel 4 through at least November. NBC 4's website says that in addition to Becker, a veteran Los Angeles anchor and TV reporter, the show's staff includes producer Michael Horowicz ("The Abrams Report" and "The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder") and reporter Toni Guinyard (KCET, KCAL.)

* I should have noted: This shoves Megan Mullally's chat show to noon and the Midday News to 11 am. "YourLA" grabs the 4 pm slot.

Also: KNBC news director Bob Long's close encounter with a grizzly in the Alaska wilderness.
