Billionaire George Soros, one of the right's favorite bogeymen of the moment, is in town tonight for a chat at the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. He'll be questioned on "Consequences of the War on Terror" by Alvin Shuster, the former foreign editor of the Los Angeles Times. With so much chatter about wealthy men looking at buying the Times, maybe Soros will comment on the current corporate tussle on Spring Street. His name has come up before. The event at the Omni hotel downtown is sold out.
* Earlier in the day: Soros spoke with Robert Scheer and others at lunch at USC Annenberg.
