Judge orders 200 workers not to strike

Superior Court judge Dzintra Janavs (her again!) ordered about 200 "essential" city workers not to join the walkout called for tomorrow by the Engineers and Architects association at City Hall. The union of 7,500 members has threatened closed runways, sewage spills and gridlock (insert joke about a routine day in L.A...) The judge's order bars a strike by airport and sanitation workers and some in other departments. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who opposes the strike, said that he would cross an EAA picket line — a first for the former union organizer.
