Piece of history

Berlin Wall shardWow, lot of response to yesterday's Where in L.A.? challenge. Most who emailed knew (or guessed) that the monument in the photo is a graffitied fragment of the Berlin Wall. Some of you suggested it is located on the campuses of USC or UCLA, at LACMA or Barnsdall Park, or even at the Norton Simon in Pasadena or the Reagan Library in Simi Valley (uh, the clue did say within Los Angeles.)

Larry Harnisch was the first to get both sides of the equation, jumping in last night with the correct answer: Loyola Marymount University in Westchester. He even provided a link. Stephen Randall, Christine Palma, Kevin Stanchfield, Kevin McCollister and Jeremy Beecher also got it, along with a number of readers who acknowledged they were LMU alums, students or staff. Doane Liu had partial insider knowledge: he was district director for Rep. Jane Harman when the piece of wall was dedicated in 1997.

Thanks for playing!
